Spring brings delicate white flowers, summer offers soft, dappled foliage, and autumn produces small cherries enjoyed by birds. Rarely exceeding 5–6 m, it suits smaller gardens and can be pruned to maintain size. Planted where winter sunlight hits from behind, its multi-stemmed form creates a spectacular “glowing” effect, making it a must-have for winter interest in any garden.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/0471/3590/files/Prunus-serrula-NWT-Product-photos-25-26-5.jpg?v=1761302334
pyrus-calleryana-chanticleer-ornamental-pear
Pyrus calleryana 'Chanticleer' - Ornamental Pear

This narrow, upright tree has almost everything a plant can offer; a strong, architectural shape, an impressive display of early spring flowers, plus a spectacular autumn colour which comes very late in the season, leaving the last leaves on sometimes up until just before Christmas!In addition, as a double flowering pear tree, it does not bear fruit, removing the problem of rotten produce underneath the tree.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/0471/3590/files/Pyrus-calleryana-Chanticleer_New-Wood-Trees-25-26_0002.jpg?v=1761302023
quercus-palustris-green-pillar-upright-pin-oak
Quercus palustris 'Green Pillar' - Upright Pin Oak

This is the fastigiate version of Quercus palustris, with deeply lobed, green shiny leaves turning to scarlet in the autumn which makes for a wonderful display.
