This is one of our most graceful native species.  It has a beautiful upright form and the tips droop down with age, giving them a pendulous appearance.  The white bark is great for winter interest.

Key Facts: 

Flowers:  Yellow catkins.

Fruit: Inconspicuous.

Bark:  White bark and distinctive dark fissured cracks at the bottom, above ground level.

Leaves:  Ovate shaped, dull green early in season, later shiny green with velvety hairs.

Autumm colour:  Pale yellow.

Ultimate height:  12m.

Uses:  Winter interest with the bark and a specimen tree at the end of the lawn.
