We recently had the opportunity to visit Knepp Wilding Kitchen to see our trees in situ and hear from Charlie Harpur, their Head gardener, on why he chose Multi-stem trees from our nursery.

If you’d prefer to read, we’ve transcribed Charlie’s testimonial here:

“Hello and welcome to the Wild Kitchen. My name is Charlie Harpur, I am the head gardener at Knepp. This is actually a big cafe courtyard, which we opened last year. And as you can see, we’ve got some very nice trees behind us. We’ve got a little grove of Acer Campstre here – the field Maple. And we’ve also got Malus Everest, right in the centre there, the nice big Crab Apple.

And you know, the reason that I went to New Wood Trees is because multi stem trees do have a sort of real natural quality that I was looking to recreate. Out in the, scrubby, wood pasture landscaping here at Knepp you don’t see perfect, single stem trees in the landscape. You get trees that are constantly grazed by animals and browsed, which which throws up into all of these really architectural shapes.

And, new wood trees had a pretty good collection of very nice multi stem forms, which I thought, we just had to get into this landscape because it seemed very, very fitting. So I hope you can enjoy the like this as I do when I’m drinking my coffee here.”

At New Wood Trees, we are committed to supporting you to find the perfect trees for your garden designs. If you’re unsure about which varieties of trees to choose, we’re more than happy to provide specific advice – please contact us with any questions you have.
