Acer cappadocicum ‘Rubrum’ – Red Cappadocicum Maple

In stock

Acer cappadocicum ‘Rubrum’ also called Red Cappadocian Maple, is an eye-catching deciduous tree admired for its vivid colours and dynamic presence through the seasons.

These are medium to large trees with lovely, rounded canopies.  In spring, the new growth is bright red and makes a great focal point against the darker leaves, which, come autumn, turn golden yellow.  The characteristic red stems accentuate this colour display, creating a layered effect of red, green, and gold that shifts elegantly through the seasons.

Acer cappadocicum develop clusters of small, yellow-green flowers in spring which are followed by winged seeds.

This maple is ideal for adding structure and colour to a larger landscape.  It’s remarkably adaptable, thriving in well-drained, moderately fertile soils with access to partial to full sun. It is known for its resilience in colder climates, and although it prefers moist conditions, it can handle brief dry spells once established. The Acer cappadocicum ‘Rubrum’ is highly versatile and works beautifully as a specimen tree in larger gardens or naturalized landscapes, where its seasonal colour and broad canopy can be fully appreciated.
