Prunus serrulata ‘Kanzan’ – Cherry ‘Kanzan’

Out of stock

Prunus serrulata ‘Kanzan’ is a species of flowering cherry with bright pink blossom and good autumn colour.  The branches grow fairly upright giving the trees an urn like appearance, but as they age they start to spread out to create a large, wide crown. In the spring this crown is adorned with beautiful, pink, double flowers, accompanied by the bronze leaves of the new growth.  The leaves turn green in the summer and rarely show signs of stress even in the dry, hot periods. The autumn display of the Prunus serrulata ‘Kanzan’ is almost as great as their spring performance. The leaves go from green to orange to yellow before falling to the ground. The bark is also worth noting as it is smooth and coppery brown with the classic horizontal lenticels.
