Fagus sylvatica

Beech trees grow into majestic trees in the landscape,  but are also used for topiary and hedging.  This is where they fit into this nursery.  We lift their crown and create a beautiful umbrella shaped topiary.  The leaves are bright lime green in the spring, turning dark green in the summer.  Then the leaves turn a great coppery colour and persist on the tree right till the end of winter.
