A narrowly conical evergreen tree with dense, bright, deep green needles in pairs. Cones are oval, blue in first year, ripening pale brown.

Fruit: Blueish-purple cones, maturing to brown.
Bark: Pale grey with flaking, yellowish/grey patches which become cracked with age.
Leaves: Evergreen, dark green stiff needles.

Uses: Very slow growing pine with attractive, peeling bark and unusual coloured cones. As it is evergreen it can be used as as windbreak, or for winter interest in the garden.
