Clerodendrum trichotomum is a small spreading tree with large leaves and a good umbrella shaped canopy. The branch structure creates a very wide characterful canopy. The leaves are large heart shaped and quite hairy to touch. They have an unusual scent when crushed or bruised. The small white flowers towards the end of summer are very fragrant. The seeds that follow are nestles in a bright red calyx. They start off white and eventually ripen to the most unusual bright blue colour.
Clerodendron tichotumum is a great addition to any garden big or small, as they have such a great shape and flowers towards the end of summer, when not many other plants do.
