Our Tree Nursery
We are an artisan tree nursery situated in the beautiful South Devon countryside. Growing approximately 13,000 trees, we deliver 120 varieties of characterful, multi-stem trees and shrubs to the south of the UK.
Unlike imported or conventionally grown stock, our trees are crafted in the UK to thrive in British landscapes, and hand pruned to create beautifully sculpted, distinctive shape and structure.
We place huge emphasis on cultivating strong, healthy root systems ensuring strength, longevity, and enduring impact. We’re meticulous about our craft and our exceptional team offer passion, expertise and personal guidance that makes every project feel supported, inspired and dependable.

We supply trees to garden designers, nurseries and private homeowners throughout the South of the UK. Notably our trees have been showcased in winning entries at the Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Garden Festival.
We care deeply about sustainability. All
our containerised trees are potted with peat-free compost.

Responsibly Grown
Ethical is beautiful
All our trees and shrubs are grown slowly and responsibly in our own fields for over 4 years. We prioritise form, health, and durability over speed or volume. We do not source trees to order, nor import and redistribute trees from other nurseries. Instead our field grown, multi-stem trees receive our time, love and hand pruning. Allowing them to develop beautiful sculpted shapes, characters and strong root systems that are accustomed to British climate and soils.

We believe trees should move naturally, develop character and tell a story of where they’ve grown. So we grow slowly, responsibly and by hand. Every cut, lift and rootball is done with care and understanding. We are fiercely dedicated to sustainability and the environment and we’re passionate about eradicating the use of peat in British horticulture.

Instant Impact
Working with the seasons
We only lift trees from our fields once they have become dormant for winter.
Avoiding lifting during their growing season gives them the best possible
chance of establishing well and flourishing in their forever home.
Winter Field Collection (Rootball Season)
We lift our trees between November and April “rootball season”. During this time you can choose trees directly from our fields.
Summer Collection (Containerised Trees)
At the end of rootball season we lift enough trees from our fields to stock our container area, so that we can continue to sell trees throughout the rest of the year. From May to October you can choose trees from our containerised stock.
100% Peat-Free Nursery
When we pot trees that we lift from our fields, we use peat-free compost combined with our airport system. We believe this is the most ethically responsible way of handling containerised trees.

Our location
We are situated in the rolling hills of south Devon close to Totnes.
We have our own delivery vehicles which are regularly moving around the South West, in and out of London, and parts of the Midlands.
As a rule of thumb, we’re able to deliver as far north as Birmingham but we can go beyond that for bulk shipments and wholesale orders. Please find more information on deliveries here.
We encourage customers to visit our nursery to experience the trees themselves. But visits are by appointment only to guarantee that we can offer our time and expertise, and keep you safe in the nursery.
