Everything Starts in the Field
We specialise in field grown multi-stem trees, carefully cultivated in our South Devon nursery.
We grow approximately 13,000 trees and have over 120 varieties for you to choose from. Each one is grown with attention to form, structure, and root development, ensuring it provides instant impact, establishes well and thrives in its forever home.
No Two Trees Are the Same
We create multi-stem trees with a beautiful sculpted shape, natural structure, movement and character. Nurtured slowly and carefully. Each with their own individual character and charm.
Each one of our 13,000 trees are shaped by the seasons, lifted by hand, and cared for with patience and skill. From the first planting to the day it leaves our nursery, every tree tells its own story.
Our Approach
All our trees are grown slowly and responsibly in our own fields for over 4 years. We prioritise form, health, and durability over speed or volume. We do not source trees to order, nor import and redistribute stock from other nurseries.
Instead, our field grown multi-stem trees receive our time, love and hand pruning developing beautiful sculpted shapes, characters and strong root systems that are accustomed to British climate and soils.
We grow slowly, responsibly and by hand. Every cut, lift and rootball is undertaken with care and understanding.
We believe trees should move naturally, develop character and tell a story of where they’ve grown.
Our field grown multi-stem trees are shaped by wind, weather, time and careful pruning. That’s what gives them their unmistakable form and presence.
Working with the Seasons
We lift trees from our fields only when they are dormant, from November to April, our "rootball season". Lifting trees during dormancy gives them the best chance of establishing quickly and growing strongly once planted.
During this time, clients are welcome to visit and select trees directly from our fields, seeing their natural shape and structure before purchasing.
Winter Field Collection (Rootball Season)
Between November and April, we lift thousands of field grown multi-stem trees, carefully rootballed and prepared for delivery. This is the main period for supplying trees directly from our fields, ensuring high quality and longevity.
Summer Collection (Containerised Trees)
After the rootball season, we transfer a selection of trees from our fields to our container area. Containerised using our air-pot system using 100% peat-free compost, these trees are available from May to October. This facility allows us to supply high-quality stock throughout the year while maintaining our ethos of only ever supplying our own field grown trees.

Our team can advise on selecting the right species, planting, and ongoing care, helping each project achieve its vision. Every tree we supply is part of a long-term partnership with our clients.
Supplying Prestigious Projects & Contract Growing
We take pride in supplying trees to high-profile gardens and show projects, including Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court, and other leading events. For these prestigious projects, we can also pot the trees into containers for their first summer. This helps them establish fresh root growth and greatly reduces the risk of transplant shock, compared with planting them straight into the ground as rootballed trees.
We are also happy to contract grow trees to meet the exact specifications and timelines required, helping designers and landscapers achieve show-stopping results.
