Summer watering advice for your young trees

Summer watering advice for your young trees

Hot, dry weather can put young trees under real pressure, but a little care at the right time can make all the difference.

In this video, Philip shares some simple advice on watering trees during the summer months. He explains how much water a young tree really needs, how often to water, and why watering deeply is far more effective than little and often. Recently planted trees are still establishing their root systems, so they're much more dependent on regular watering than mature trees.

Getting this right through the first few summers will give your tree the best chance of establishing well and thriving in the years ahead. These are the same principles we follow with the trees growing in our Devon nursery, and they're easy to apply in any garden.
