Cornus controversa – Giant Dogwood

Out of stock

Cornus controversa, or the Giant Dogwood, is an impressive, multi-stemmed tree known for its striking tiered branches and large, lush foliage. It typically grows to a height of 8-14 meters, developing a broad, layered canopy that gives it an architectural look, almost like a living pagoda. In spring, it produces clusters of small white flowers that attract pollinators, followed by blue-black berries in late summer. In autumn, the leaves turn a beautiful red-purple, adding seasonal interest.

It thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers partial shade to full sun. Its unique structure and vibrant seasonal color make it ideal as a specimen tree in larger gardens, where it can be appreciated for its elegant, sculptural form.
